The International Association for Outcome-based Evaluation and Research on Family and Children’s Services (iaOBERfcs) is a small group of scholars in the area of outcome evaluation, who have come together to work collaboratively on descriptive and comparative evaluations and research on family and children’s services. We have used the image of a tree to describe this approach: the fertile soil in which the tree is planted, its roots and trunk, and its generative capacity to create new trees composed of leaves and fruits, with publications, conferences and other ways of disseminating results.
The Association was founded on June 25th 2003 by the Fondazione Zancan and Boston College, in collaboration with 28 experts from all over the world.
Through the main steps and publications of the Association, the book highlights the potentials of outcome-based evaluation to provide better services for children and families.
